Sical Logistics FY07-08 net Rs 502 million

Chennai, India, August 24, 2007: Sical Logistics Ltd, India’s leading provider of integrated multi-modal logistics solutions for bulk and containerized cargo and offshore logistics, signed the shareholders agreement on 22 Aug ’07 with the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) and Gupta Coal for developing the Road Terminal at the Multimodal International Hub Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN).
A special purpose vehicle (SPV), Nagpur Sical Gupta Road Terminal Ltd (NSGRTL), was formed in April 2007 to build and operate the MIHAN Road Terminal. Sical will have 51% stake in the project and MADC and Gupta Coal will have 26% and 23% stakes respectively .

Chennai, 8 August 2007: Sical Logistics Ltd, India’s leading provider of integrated solutions for bulk and containerized cargo and offshore logistics, has sold the manufacturing facilities and assets of its auto components division, Indrad Auto Components, for Rs 14.69 crore to Lucas TVS Ltd, one of India’s largest auto electrical manufacturing companies.

With this asset disposal, the total funds realized by the company since the start of the dis-investment process, in 2006, stand at Rs 90.18 crore.

Third update from Sical Logistics on the loss of Samudrika 10 off Bombay High

Chennai, July 16, 2007: Sical Logistics has announced that two more bodies of the missing crew of Samudrika 10, the offshore supply vessel (OSV) that sank off Bombay High on 9 July 2007, have been recovered. The bodies were washed away to far off Bhilad, Valsad District, on the Gujarat coast, because of strong northerly currents and waves. On 15 July 2007, the body of MCapt Gurbachan Singh, the vessel's Master, was recovered; today, 16 July 2007, the body of Shyam Ji, Seaman, was found.

Update from Sical Logistics on the Loss of Samudrika 10 off Bombay High

Chennai, July 10, 2007: At 1230 hours on 9th July 2007, amidst high swells and battering waters of around 4 meters and wind velocity of 35 knots, SAMUDRIKA 10 which was deployed in Bombay High at about 56 nautical miles from Mumbai, sank. Samudrika 10, a 1986 built OSV (Offshore Supply Vessel), was taken over by Sical on 04 July 07 from SCI as part of the 17 vessels under contract to Sical by ONGC. Senior officers of ONGC and Sical’s project officials rushed to the accident site to oversee the search and rescue operations.

Chennai, 31 July 2006: Sical's unaudited net profit for Q1 of FY07 was Rs 114.5 mln, up 37% from Rs 83.8 mln a year ago; Q1 net sales were Rs 2.42 against Rs 2.38 bln. Profit before tax was Rs 148.9 mln, up 42% on year. EBIDTA of the core logistics business was Rs 186.7 million against Rs 184.9 million a year ago, 79% of the company's total segment-wise EBIDTA.

Sical to build Rs 5.5 bln iron ore terminal at Ennore Port

Sical ramps up trucking operations for road logistics

Chennai, 25 May 2006: Sical Logistics Ltd today announced a major expansion of its road transportation operations for bulk and containerized cargo. The company said it is adding 80 vehicles, primarily double-axle trucks and tankers, in the immediate term, and a total of 300 vehicles in FY 2006-07. Sical's existing house fleet consists of 320 vehicles. The fleet expansion comes on the back of recent increased business from major customers, namely, Caltex, Tamil Nadu Petrochemicals, Pepsi India, and Shell India.
