Sical is also physically and financially assisting the family members of the crew who have survived and those who have unfortunately lost their lives.

Samudrika 10 had sailed out of Nhava Supply base of ONGC on 6 July 2007. It was on standby mode when it took water around 0100 hrs on 9 July. At 1235 hrs, the vessel started sinking by stern. The vessel received several heavy swells as a result of which it went down by stern and could not come back to normal position because of the unexpected shifting of heavy cargo and aggravated weather conditions.

It has been a tragic loss of four of the employees who put in their best in inclement weather of the Bombay High that day. While the loss to the families would be irreparable, the company will work to ensure that due compensation reaches the next of kin at the earliest.
